After weeks in hot water on social media, Kanye West buys its own platform.

Specifically, Ye agreed to acquire the Parler app, which bills itself as “the world’s pioneering uncancellable free speech platform.”

The move comes after Ye’s Instagram account was recently restricted for violating the platform’s rules and guidelines, reportedly over a now-deleted post that was slammed as anti-Semitic. Twitter also deleted a tweet the same day deemed anti-Semitic.

In Parler’s announcement, Ye said, “In a world where conservative views are considered controversial, we need to make sure we have the right to express ourselves freely.”

The ad – which describes West as “the richest black man in history”, a description he himself has used recently – claims that Ye is “taking a bold stand against his recent censorship of Big Tech, using his extended talents to further lead the fight to create a truly uncancellable environment.

Additionally, the press release states that Ye’s ownership will “ensure Parler’s future role in creating an irreversible ecosystem where all voices are welcome.”

CEO of Parliament Technologies George Farmer noted in the announcement, “This deal will change the world and change the way the world thinks about free speech,” explaining, “Ye takes a revolutionary step into the free speech media space and n Never have to worry about being pulled from social media again. Once again, Ye proves he’s one step ahead of the legacy media narrative.
