Say what? Idaho Women Really Love This Dating App Photo

In the words of Olivia Rodrigo, “it’s brutal here” in the dating world. Was it easier to date back then? Hard to say. But the methods of finding a date were very different only 15 years ago. I remember meeting an online partner who was considered taboo. In fact, a good friend of mine had a fake “how we met” story about her husband because she was embarrassed to admit that they had found love on MySpace.

But these days, finding a partner online / through a dating app is the norm. There are dozens of apps dedicated to finding you a match. They all differ in one way or another, but just about all have one thing in common: the profile pictures of your potential partner. And for good reason! You have to have that initial physical attraction to someone before anything else, and let’s not pretend otherwise. It is therefore essential to have the right image.

We asked the lovely ladies of Idaho on Facebook for their thoughts on a controversial type of photo that men have used in their profiles for years: holding a fish they’ve caught. Is it okay to post, or is it unattractive?

Most have argued that it’s actually important to have a photo like this because it’s an indicator of a man’s interests:

“I think you probably need to know what that person’s interests are and whether hunting / fishing / sport is a part of their life, that determines whether or not they are right for you.” – Angèle M.

“You are in Idaho. Plus, you need to know what their interests are. – Krystynne C.

“I would never fault someone for sharing an activity that they enjoy or are passionate about. That doesn’t make them ‘unattractive’ at all. – Dee B.

“I like pictures that show a glimpse of a man’s interests.” – Marianne Z.

So fish photos are not a red flag, but avoid filters and selfies in the gym and bathroom. These are the real deal breakers. So continue with these profile pictures of Idaho fishermen looking for love. The ladies don’t blame you.
