Report from Tony’s 10m group | Southgate Amateur Radio News

A strange week in many ways. Thursday and Friday were the best with the weekend not quite as good even though there was the ARRL Digital contest. I managed to get the best spotter on Sunday. I have worked in many South American countries. In the short time I had, I made 70 contacts. The ARRL newspaper page spotted a dupe, so only 69 counts, damn it!

I worked C5C eventually on Ten Meters. As for the rest of the week, C5C and 3D2RRR were really dominated by Italian WRTC stations. There’s still a couple I’m looking for. I hope to get a certificate like this.

And there I was looking for more WRTC when 9X2AW (Rwanda) appeared. It took me 45 minutes to catch it but I did it and over 10m.

Sun: Only 4 spots, all stable and calm. The risk of eruptions today is low.

This is a very good graph of Spaceweather.com showing the sunspot cycle over the past few decades.

Footy: Yes, well, Wales have qualified for the World Cup. Everything else is just a warm-up/practice for it, e.g. UEFA League matches.

Cricket: In a low-scoring and swinging first Test match, England beat New Zealand at Lord’s. A good 100+ pitch out for Joe Root. The second test starts on Friday (why?)
