LIV Golf Team Championship Miami: How to watch, who to watch, course and prizes



The LIV Golf season is about to end at Trump National Doral Golf Club in Miami this week, again with huge sums of money on the table.

In its eighth and final event of the year, the iconic Blue Monster course will host the LIV Golf Invitational Series three-day knockout tournamentwith both match play and stroke play as LIV’s 12 teams battle it out for a whopping $50 million scholarship. It’s double the price in money for each of the first seven events.

The winning team will be shared $16 million and all 12 teams receive cash prizes.

LIV Golf announced team of 12field of 48 players playing from October 28 to 30, which feature four former world No. 1sseven highest ranked players within their country, 12 major champions with a total of 22 major tournaments won, 13 Olympians and 14 different countries represented.

Brooks Koepka won the last outing in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, while Dustin Johnson won the individual title consisting of an $18 million bounty.

The 36 best players in the individual ranking of the series qualify for the team championshipwith league commitments and captaincy selections making up the rest of the field.

Team Championship Format

Friday October 28 – Quarter-finals

  • The top four ranked teams will receive a bye.
  • Teams ranked 5-12 will compete in one-on-one match-play.
  • The top ranked teams select their opponents.
  • The 32 players across the eight teams will face off in a shotgun start.
  • For each one-on-one team match, three matches will take place: two singles matches and one foursome match.
  • Matches will be played until a winner is determined. Each winner of the match receives a point.
  • Teams that get two points will move on to Saturday.

Saturday October 29 – Semi-finals

  • The top four seeded teams will join the winning squads beginning Friday for another day of one-on-one tag team play.
  • The top ranked teams select their opponents.
  • The 32 players across the eight teams will face off in a shotgun start.
  • The teams compete in the same format as Friday: two singles matches and a foursome match, with each match winner receiving a point.
  • The four teams that get two points will advance to the Tag Team Championship.

Sunday October 30 – Team Championship

  • The four winning teams will face off in a round of shotgun-start stroke play.
  • The 16 players will go head-to-head with the team captains playing together.
  • All four scores count for the team’s score.
