House of the Dragon premiere crashes HBO Max app

The world of Westeros returned to our screens last night with House of the Dragon – HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel – however, not all fans were able to catch the highly anticipated premiere.

US viewers complained via Twitter that they couldn’t watch the first episode of House of the Dragon after the HBO Max app crashed.

An HBO spokesperson told, “House of the Dragon was successfully viewed by millions of HBO Max subscribers last night.

“A small portion of users attempting to connect through Fire TV devices have experienced issues and we have worked directly with affected users to bring them into the platform.”

Many fans were reporting difficulties on Twitter trying to watch House of the Dragon through the HBO Max app, citing the Game of Thrones spin-off as the only show on the platform that would crash it.
