“Streets of St. Peterburg is the first tackle for five drivers”

Since winning the 2021 Indy Lights Championship Presented by Cooper Tires, HMD Motorsports with Dale Coyne Racing (HMD with DCR) has been hard at work planning and preparing for the upcoming season. After months of testing, finalizing driver rosters and expanding partnerships, the team is now ready to take on the opening round of the 2022 season this weekend on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida. .

With an expanded presence in the Indy Lights and NTT INDYCAR SERIES paddocks, HMD with DCR will field five drivers this season. Linus Lundqvist, Manuel Sulaiman and Benjamin Pedersen are back in the team, as this trio will be joined by new team members Christian Bogle and Danial Frost.

As the best returning driver, Linus Lundqvist is hoping to be a title contender from the start and with a year of Indy Lights under his belt, he is up for the challenge. Last season Lundqvist took three wins and eleven podiums to finish third in the championship.

Benjamin Pedersen returns to the Global Racing Group team with the entry of HMD Motorsports. In the second half of the 2021 season, Pedersen picked up five podium finishes to finish fourth in the championship but is still looking for his first Indy Lights victory. After topping the leaderboards throughout the off-season testing program, Pedersen looks set to carry the momentum into the 2022 season.

Manuel Sulaiman, who joined HMD Motorsports and the Indy Lights Championship for the final six rounds of last season, returns to the team for his first full season at Indy Lights. After finishing sixth in his very first Indy Lights race, Sulaiman is now firmly settled into the team and ready to fight his way through the field.

New to the HMD Motorsports lineup with Dale Coyne Racing, Christian Bogle returns for his second year of Indy Lights. Bogle entered Road to Indy three seasons ago and didn’t begin his racing career until 2018. Since then, Bogle has risen through the ranks in Indy Lights and spent the offseason familiarizing himself with the team and the HMD Motorsports car and now feels confident heading into 2022.

Danial Frost completes the five-car lineup for HMD with DCR. Also returning for his second year at Indy Lights, Frost has earned four podiums and three pole positions in 2021. He has now moved to HMD for his second season and is looking forward to securing his first championship victory as he looks to fight for the drivers championship in 2022.

In addition to the five Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires entries, HMD Motorsports moved to the NTT INDYCAR SERIES with rookie driver David Malukas in #18 Dale Coyne Racing with the HMD Motorsports entry.

All Indy Lights 2022 races will be available on Peacock Premium in the US, REV TV in Canada and ESPN – Star+ in Latin America and Brazil. For fans outside of these areas, Indy Lights racing will be available on the INDYCAR app powered by NTT DATA. Additional race weekend viewing opportunities will be available at a later date.
