Dora is back! Trump Resort to Host LIV Golf Team Championship for Non-Team Event Tour – Geoff Shackelford

Morning Read/SI’s Bob Harig got the news first: Trump Doral will host the eighth closing event of the LIV Golf Invitational series in October. The famous blue monster course was the site of the The PGA Tours annual stop in Miami beginning in 1962 and until the PGA Tour departed for Mexico WGC event, now extinct.

Harig writes:

After a five-year absence, Doral will return to professional golf under Norman Golf LIV Bannerthe $30 million Tag Team Championship in which the winning four-man team will split $16 million.

As you remember Curator Greg Norman and friends abandoned a team concept for 7 individual events followed by this concluding tournament. Harig also reported that 15 of the top 100 players have signed up and could request releases from their tours.

Either way, expect the former President Donald Trump to add to the October show, whatever format was used to distribute $30 million worth of Public investment fund money. It should be fun.

When Doral was dropped by the Tour, he said…

“I just found out that the PGA Tour is pulling their tournament out of Miami and moving it to Mexico,” Trump said in an interview with Fox News in May 2016. “It’s at Doral…they used one of my places. They “I move their tournament; it’s the Cadillac World Golf Championship. And Cadillac has been a great sponsor, but they’re moving it to Mexico. They’re moving it to Mexico City which, by the way, I hope they have kidnapping insurance.

“But they’re moving it to Mexico City. And I say, you know, what’s going on here? It’s so sad when you look at what’s going on in our country.”

Well, it’s back and funded by people who got kidnapped and slaughtered a bit. The circle is complete.
