Batavia cheerleading coach sisters lead Tag Team Championship in Orlando

Batavia residents Jacklyn (Borrelli) Pratt and Nicole Borrelli co-train together for a competitive cheerleading program, New York Icons. The sister coaching duo are honored to have their team, the celebrities, represent their program at the upcoming Summit Championship in Orlando, Florida. The Borrelli sisters have been coaching cheerleaders for over 10 years and have co-coached their Allstar team together for three seasons. These sisters have proven to be a force to be reckoned with within the cheerleading community.

New York Icons, a local Allstar cheerleading and tumbling training facility, in Rochester is proud to announce that celebrities will compete in Summit Championship on a PAID offer in the Small Junior Level Two division to compete in one of the competitions most prestigious cheerleading clubs in the country. by Varsity All-Star. Varsity All-Star is a division of Varsity Spirit, the world leader in cheerleading.

The Summit Championship, taking place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex at the Walt Disney World® Resort from April 28 to May 1, is the ultimate goal of the season for many competitive all-star teams. The Summit Championship, founded by Varsity All-Star in 2013, will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2022 and feature more than 1,500 teams and 24,000 competitors from around the world. The Summit Championship offers a unique experience for athletes to compete against the best of the best at all levels of competition. The Summit Championship and Dance Summit Championship continue to grow, providing multiple avenues for teams to have a competitive, high-profile, and celebratory end to the season.

The Borrelli sisters and their team have worked extremely hard this season, especially after the pandemic and the challenges they faced last season. “We couldn’t have asked for more from our athletes this season,” said the Borrelli sisters. “They have consistently achieved the highest overall score throughout our in-season competitions, and we are very proud of that.” They head to Florida as the TOP Northeast Region Team on the Varsity Leaderboard.

Jacklyn is a special education teacher at Gates Chile Middle School and a program assistant for Gates Chile’s cheerleading program. Additionally, she has worked with several Genesee area high school cheerleading programs over the past few years and has worked closely with Attica High School. More importantly, her number one role is being the mother of her one-year-old son, Jackson. Nicole is an office manager in Rochester and is the JV Cheerleading Coach for Gates Chili High School as well as her other coaching and apparel coordinator duties at New York Icons.
