AEW: World Tag Team Championship match confirmed for Grand Slam

AEW Grand Slam is gearing up to be a stacked card at New York’s Arthur Ashe Stadium as the AEW World Tag Team Championships are on the line.

Last Sunday, AEW fan favorites The Acclaimed took on AEW World Tag Team Champions Swerve In Our Glory at ALL OUT.

The crowd was divided at the start of the fight, but as it progressed, it was clear fans wanted new champions in The Acclaimed as chants filled the arena in their favor. The Chicago crowd even booed Swerve In Our Glory in places.

Caster and Bowens had everyone on the edge of their seat, hitting plenty of signature moves. Caster even picked up Lee and slammed him.

However, the match ended with Swerve and Keith Lee hitting the Spirit Bomb, assisted by the stomp, to retain the AEW World Tag Team Championships.

The effort of The Acclaimed and the closeness with which they came to retain the titles saw Tony Khan confirm that Bowens and Caster will have another chance to put gold around their waists in two weeks.

A segment on Dynamite from last night saw Caster and Bowens about to rap, but they were immediately interrupted by Swerve, who was in high demand from the Buffalo crowd.

Bowens and Caster have proclaimed that in two weeks they will win the AEW World Championships, heightening the storyline between the two as the rivalry begins to paint Swerve In Our Glory as potential heels, just how bad The Acclaimed are.
